Zelensky Is Delaying Ukraine's Peace Agreement, Not Putin, Trump Says

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has asserted that Ukraine, rather than Russia, is obstructing a potential peace agreement. In an interview with Reuters, he insisted that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is ready to end the war. “I think he is ready to make a deal,” Trump said about Putin. “I think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal.”

When asked why negotiations led by the U.S. have failed so far to end the largest land conflict in Europe since World War II, Trump replied with a single word: “Zelensky.”

“We need to convince President Zelensky to support this,” he stated.

When further pressed on why he believes the Ukrainian president is stalling negotiations, Trump did not elaborate, simply saying, “I just think he is having difficulty achieving his goals.”
