The Proportions of Shareholding Will Change in the Future: Ararat Mirzoyan
During a press conference regarding the Armenian-American declaration signed on TRIPP, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan clarified a widely raised question about why only 26% of the shares of the TRIPP company belong to Armenia, while 74% belong to the United States. Mirzoyan mentioned that this ratio is the result of negotiations and reflects the investments of the two countries.
“It is no secret that the United States is making substantial investments, and I am not only referring to investments in political capital or political support, but specifically financial investments. Armenia, on its part, will invest the rights to develop, and that is a fairly equitable distribution. Moreover, we are talking about the next 49 years; later when the contract is presented for an additional 50 years, the shareholding proportions will change, and we will nearly be equal,” Mirzoyan stated.
