Bonuses Are Given Not Only to Leaders but Also to the Ministry, Says Smbuhi Galayan

“This information is not secret; you can see very open and accessible information in my annual declaration. In general, I recommend that all public officials study declarations to see how much salary and bonuses each has received,” stated Justice Minister Smbuhi Galayan in a conversation with journalists.

She noted that bonuses were given based on the work performed by officials and the risks associated with it. “The government could have made a much more radical decision to rethink the salary coefficients of public service officials. However, since it would be a lengthy process, a decision has been made to allocate bonuses based on the volume of the government’s performance at this moment, in a certain percentage ratio. Moreover, bonuses are granted not only to leaders but also to the ministry, taking into account the volume of work carried out on specific ministry priorities,” Galayan added. She mentioned that she received approximately 6-7 million in bonuses, which she considers normal remuneration for her work.
