United Kingdom Temporarily Closes Embassy in Iran

The United Kingdom has temporarily ceased operations at its embassy in Tehran, with all diplomatic staff recalled from the country amidst ongoing protests in Iran.

“The British Embassy in Tehran is temporarily closed. Travel advice for Iran, including information regarding consular services, has been updated accordingly,” reads a written statement from the UK government’s press service.

The travel advisory emphasizes that all staff at the embassy have departed from Iran due to security concerns. “However, the diplomatic mission will continue to provide services remotely,” stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
