Tymoshenko Accuses Zelensky of Corruption
The leader of Ukraine's Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of corruption during her speech in the Verkhovna Rada. Her remarks were quoted by Strana.ua.
“Ukraine has turned into a center of corruption at all levels—from the head of state to the lowest officials. We have fought and will continue to fight against the widespread corruption that has infiltrated all branches of the Ukrainian government,” she stated.
On Wednesday, Ukraine's National Bureau of Corruption Prevention (NABU) released a recording of a conversation between the Batkivshchyna leader and a Rada deputy, in which they discuss payment for parliamentary voting. Charges have been brought against her.
Olga Postolyuk, a spokesperson for the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), announced that a motion for preventive measures against the politician is planned. Tymoshenko herself stated that the recordings published by NABU are not her voice.
Earlier, Yulia Tymoshenko announced on her Facebook page that urgent investigative actions at the party office have concluded after continuing throughout the night.
