Iran Pays Protesters for Killings and Arson, Defense Minister Says
Iran's Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh has stated that protesters are being paid to carry out killings and arson. “During these meetings, they even set the prices for acts of sabotage in Iran. Killing a person costs 500 million tomans, burning a car costs 200 million tomans, setting fire to a police station costs 80 million tomans, and vandalism costs 15 million tomans,” he was quoted by the IRIB news agency.
One dollar is approximately 1.4 million rials. A diplomatic source in Iran told RIA Novosti that many of the victims were shot in the back by “agents.” Authorities consider the protests a continuation of a 12-day war with Israel and the United States. Tehran will investigate all cases of provocation.
