Someone has decided to start eliminating competitors: I am honest to myself, the people, and Ukraine - Tymoshenko
Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Fatherland party, announced on her Facebook page that the "urgent investigative actions" at the party's office had concluded after continuing throughout the night.
"The 'urgent investigative actions' have nothing to do with the law and legality. More than thirty heavily armed men, without presenting any documents, effectively seized the building and held the employees hostage," Tymoshenko stated.
According to her, the searches were conducted without a court order, and there were only publicly made statements on the internet without any evidence.
Tymoshenko described the search as a "large-scale PR move" and added that anti-corruption bodies "found nothing", resulting in the confiscation of her "work phones, parliamentary documents, and personal savings", all of which are accounted for in her official declarations.
"I categorically deny all the accusations. The elections are much closer than they seem, and someone has decided to start eliminating competitors," she declared.
Tymoshenko also indicated that this was a "political order" directed against her.
"Persecution and intimidation have been part of my daily life for years. I no longer fear anything because I know that I am honest to myself, the people, and Ukraine. No one can break or stop me. This time, we will once again prove the truth," concluded the leader of the Fatherland party.
