Blizzard in Several Regions of Armenia: Road Conditions

The Emergency Situations Service reports that some roads in the Republic of Armenia are closed due to a blizzard. The roads leading from the high mountain meteorological station 'Amberd' in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and Kary Lake are closed. Additionally, the road from the Yerekhsi circular route to the Tigranashen twists, the Lanjarr-Lusashogh-Lanjazat road, and the Gyumri-Ashotsk and Gyumri-Jajur roads are closed to all types of vehicles due to blizzard conditions.

The Vardenyats and Meghri mountain passes, the Berd-Jambarak road, and the roads leading from Elpin to the Tigranashen twists are closed for vehicles with trailers and are difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. The Talin-Mastara-Lanjik-Gyumri road is impassable for all types of vehicles. There are patches of black ice on the roads in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Artik, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavarr, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotsk, and Amasya.

Snow is falling in the Syunik province, Aragats, and Aparan regions. Blizzard conditions persist on the roads of Tigranashen turns, Aragats, Ashotsk, Amasya, and Gyumri regions. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
