Roads Closed in Armenia; Black Ice Reported in Some Areas

The Emergency Situations Ministry reports that there are closed roads within the territory of Armenia. The roads leading from the ‘Amberd’ high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and the K'ari Lake are closed in the Aragatsotn Province.

The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and is difficult for other types of vehicles.

Black ice is reported in parts of the roadways in the regions of Aparan, Aragats, Sevan, Jambarak, Martuni, Gavar, Abovyan, Hrazdan, Nairi, Sisian, Goris, Ashotq and Amasia. Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for trucks with trailers.
