Annual Inflation Rate at 3.3% for 2025

In the Armenian consumer market, the 12-month inflation rate for the period of January to December 2025 stands at 3.3% compared to the same period last year, and at 1.2% compared to November 2025. This information was reported by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.

In the regions where observations were made, consumer prices in December 2025 increased by 0.4% to 1.4% compared to November. Notably, a relatively higher inflation rate was recorded in the capital city. The average monthly increase in consumer prices from January to December 2025 was 0.3%, whereas in the same period last year, the increase was only 0.1%.

In 2025, prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products rose by 6% compared to the previous year, while food products and non-alcoholic beverages saw a price increase of 5%. In December 2025, food products and non-alcoholic beverages became 4.3% more expensive compared to December 2024, and 2.9% compared to November 2025.

Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 0.6% in December compared to November, and by 7.3% compared to December 2024. The price of poultry meat rose by 4.3% year-on-year in December 2025, while beef, pork, and lamb prices increased by 11.7%, 12.7%, and 14.1%, respectively. Compared to November 2025, these meats became 2.4%, 7.4%, 2.9%, and 0.8% more expensive, respectively.

In December 2025, compared to December 2024, the prices for sour cream increased by 2.6%, bread by 3.6%, sugar by 4.1%, pasta by 7.9%, buckwheat by 9.4%, and peas by 10.4%. Compared to November 2025, their prices rose by 0.6%, 0.6%, 1.3%, 0.1%, 1.3%, and 1% respectively.

The price of 'Ishkhan' fish rose by 18.3% in December 2025 compared to the same month last year, and by 5.3% compared to November 2025. In December 2025, butter and margarine became more expensive by 7.2% and 7.4% respectively, with increases of 1% and 1.8% compared to November 2025.

The price of sunflower oil increased by 8.2% year-on-year in December 2025, and by 0.4% compared to November 2025. In December, the price of cheese increased by 4.6%, fresh milk by 4.7%, and compared to November 2025, they increased by 1.5% and 1.4%, respectively.

The price of eggs rose by 7.2% year-on-year in December 2025, and by 4.3% compared to November 2025. In December 2025, the prices of confectionery increased by 2.4%, coffee by 9.5%, and cocoa by 31.9%. Compared to November 2025, these products rose by 0.7%, 0.2%, and 1.4%, respectively.

The prices of sugar and sweeteners increased by 1.1% in December 2025 compared to December 2024, and by 1.4% compared to November 2025. While vegetable prices decreased by 7.5% year-on-year in December 2025, they increased by 12.5% compared to November 2025. Fruits saw a price increase of 0.7% compared to December 2024, and 0.1% compared to November 2025.

In December 2025, non-food item prices increased by 0.9% year-on-year compared to December 2024, while compared to November 2025, prices remained unchanged. In the nine monitored locations across the Republic, non-food item prices in December increased by 0.1% to 0.5% compared to November (the highest increase was recorded in Hrazdan City), in one location prices remained unchanged, while a 0.2% price decrease was observed in the capital.

In December 2025, the Republic recorded a 0.1% increase in gasoline prices and a 0.1% decrease in diesel fuel prices compared to November. Year-on-year in December 2025, gasoline and diesel fuel prices fell by 0.8% and 0.9%, respectively, while from January to December 2025, they decreased by 2.2% and 4.1% compared to 2024.

In December 2025, liquid hydrocarbons (butane, propane, etc.) saw a price drop of 8.6% compared to the same month last year, while there was a 19.2% increase compared to November 2025. In December, the average monthly price of liquid hydrocarbons was 193.6 AMD.

In the service sector provided to the population, service prices increased by 3.1% in December 2025 compared to December 2024, and by 0.1% compared to November 2025.

In December 2025, consumer prices increased by 1.2% compared to November, and the exchange rate of the Armenian dram decreased by 0.1% against the US dollar (the dram appreciated). Year-on-year in December 2025, the 3.3% increase in consumer prices coincided with a 3.8% decrease in the dram's exchange rate against the US dollar. In the previous year's corresponding period, a 1.5% increase in consumer prices was coupled with a 2% decrease in the dram's exchange rate against the US dollar. The average exchange rate of the dram against the dollar in December 2025 was 381.5 AMD (it was 396.5 AMD in December 2024).
