Protests in Iran Register Lowest Participation in Last Three Days

Despite the call from the son of the deposed Shah of Iran to escalate acts of disobedience, occupy the streets of Iranian cities, and remain there, the protests in Iran last night recorded the lowest participation in the past three days. This was reported by Iranian studies expert Vardan Voskanyan.

“Unlike the previous two nights, there were also no large-scale clashes between protesters and security forces. Yesterday, the Iranian army declared that it was ready to assist security forces in maintaining public order if necessary, but this necessity did not arise.

Many opposition groups in exile from Iran are actively criticizing the attempts of the Shah's son to 'monopolize' the leadership of the protests and to present himself as their remote 'organizer' and 'leader' through exaggerated public support.

The internet in Iran remains disconnected, with access restricted primarily to state media, which disseminate official information,” he added.
