Over 100 Clergymen Express Unconditional Loyalty to Karekin II

More than 100 clergymen have expressed their unconditional support for the Mother See and the Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians, Karekin II. Priests from various themes are making statements expressing their unwavering loyalty to the Father Patriarch.

“The Bible describes evil as deceitful, slanderous, and divisive. Today, everything happening around the Armenian Church, under the guise of ‘church reform’ by authorities, bears the same ‘signature.’ It is important to remember a simple truth: it is impossible to implement ‘reform’ in the style and manner of evil. When slander is used instead of love, when division is sown instead of unity, when coercion is applied instead of freedom, this is not reform but yet another manifestation of the same evil. Evil cannot create good; its goal is always destruction and the devaluation of spiritual values. Let us remain vigilant and alert to distinguish light from darkness.” - Father Vache Mkrtchyan

“O God, the giver of all that is good, restore the peace of our people and renew the brotherhood and unity of our spiritual servants.” - Father Karapet Stepanyan

“For a clergyman, loyalty is the highest value. It is not just a promise to God but also a guide for beginning and ending each day. To be loyal means to serve sincerely, to uphold the truth, and to be an example for people. In contrast, unfaithfulness disturbs inner peace and trust. Loyalty does not need to be advertised; it is evident in deeds, prayers, and the purity of speech. A loyal clergyman stands firm in the face of difficulties and despair, but does not abandon his calling. The light of loyalty that radiates from within spreads over the community, showing people the way of faith. The life of a faithful clergyman teaches to love, to be patient, and to serve unconditionally. Loyalty keeps the soul and shapes a person on the path of spiritual aspirations. Such is the faithful path of a clergyman—simple, solid, and unchanging. I remain faithful to the vow I made before the Altar of the Holy Table with paternal warmth and humility. God is my helper, Most Reverend Lord.” - Abbot Virap Sargsyan

“It is regrettable that some clergymen, having succumbed to temptation, have estranged themselves from our brotherhood and have become instruments in the shameful process of division. Repent and turn away from your wicked ways; tomorrow it will be too late. The Church is invincible.” - Father Maghakia Ohanyan

“This is yet another attempt to cut us off from our roots, our history, and our identity. Just as we were deprived of Artsakh and the joy of victories, so too they wish to deprive us of the joy of being Christian. Is it tyranny or treason?” - Father Gabriel Vardanian
