Trump on Iran's Potential Collapse
In response to the question of whether Iran is on the brink of collapse, Donald Trump said, “It’s possible. They have started shooting at people, or arresting them, taking them to jail, hanging them, and killing them. They have been brutal. And I have said, if they do that, we will hit them very hard. We are ready to do that. And so far there have been isolated incidents, but mostly it hasn’t happened.”
He added, “Some people have died because the crowds are so large that people are literally being trampled, it’s horrific. The crowd is just enormous.” Trump noted that “the enthusiasm for the overthrow of this regime is incredible. There are so many protesters, nobody has ever seen anything like what is happening right now.” He further stated, “But I clarified, if they start firing on these people, who are completely unarmed, who love their country and want change, look what their country has become. They have been thrown back 150 years.”
