The New York Times Includes Armenia in Its Annual List of Travel Destinations
The renowned newspaper The New York Times has published its annual list of the world's 52 most attractive and recommended travel destinations for 2026, with Armenia securing an honorable 20th position.
Armenia is showcased under the title "Wolves, Wine, and Millennia-Old Monasteries," highlighting the harmonious combination of the country’s wilderness, ancient culture, and emerging tourism infrastructure. The article notes that despite being a beloved spot for adventurers and nature lovers for decades, recent tourist flows have reached unprecedented figures.
The first eight months of 2025 were record-breaking for the country, with August witnessing the highest number of tourist visits ever recorded. Against this backdrop, 2026 promises to be even more significant, especially for wine enthusiasts.
In May of the coming year, the capital city of Yerevan will host one of the world's most prestigious wine competitions, the "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles," providing an additional boost to Armenia's recognition as an ancient cradle of winemaking.
