Decrease in Influenza and ARI Cases Reported in Armenia
During the first week of 2026, a low level of illness attributed to influenza and acute respiratory infections (ARI) has been recorded across the entire territory of the Republic. The incidence decreased by 2.3 times compared to the previous week. This information was provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
“Hospitalizations due to influenza and other ARIs in medical organizations have also decreased by 1.3 times compared to the previous week. The H3N2 subtype of influenza A continues to circulate in Armenia, along with pathogens of other respiratory infections such as rhinovirus and adenovirus,” the statement said.
As of January 5, 2026, a total of 185,497 doses of the flu vaccine have been administered, which constitutes 92.7% of the planned 200,000 doses for the season,” the report concluded.
