Father of Boy Involved in Fight at Military Academy, Deputy Head of Artikes Correctional Facility, Dismissed from Position

The Armenian Ministry of Justice has informed ArmLur.am that Ruben Gasparyan, the deputy head of the "Artik" correctional facility, has been dismissed from his position. His dismissal is linked to a video released on November 28, 2025, which recorded instances of violence and humiliation against a minor, one of whom is the son of Ruben Gasparyan.

It is important to note that the video of the incident sparked significant outrage after surfacing online. The footage shows a group of minors beating and humiliating their peer while filming the entire episode.

There was a wide public response on social media, with many citizens expressing their outrage.

Furthermore, the Minister of Justice, Surbhi Galyan, stated on December 3 that the child's father continues to remain in the system. "Regarding the father, I will say the following: as long as no information is received indicating that the father has obstructed the investigation, affected the preliminary investigation in any way, or attempted to create conditions for his son to be held in better circumstances, we do not consider the question of suspension from office. If and when such information becomes available that would be incompatible with the continuation of his authorities, we will discuss that issue," the minister noted.
