Europe Again Increases Gas Withdrawal from Underground Storage Facilities: Gazprom

European countries are once again setting maximum gas withdrawal limits from underground storage facilities, noted Gazprom. “Europe is again establishing limits on the maximum withdrawal of gas from underground storage facilities. According to Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), the highest daily volumes of gas extracted from Europe’s underground gas storage were recorded on January 5th and 6th,” Gazprom reported via its Telegram channel.

This winter’s maximum daily gas withdrawal was recorded on December 24th, 25th, 26th, and 31st. Previously, Gazprom reported that the situation regarding gas reserves in the Baltic states is extremely critical; the only gas storage facility is half-empty, which could pose serious challenges to the reliable gas supply in the region during cold weather.
