EU Urges Preparedness for Direct Confrontation with Trump: Politico

The European Union has urged its members to prepare for a direct confrontation with U.S. President Donald Trump over his demands regarding Greenland, as reported by Politico, citing an EU diplomat.

“We must be ready for a direct clash with Trump... He is aggressive, and we need to be in a state of high alert,” the diplomat told the publication.

The publication notes that although European governments previously “did not understand the seriousness of Trump’s threats” regarding the annexation of Greenland, they now do. Politico highlights that European officials are no longer ignoring the U.S. leader's escalating rhetoric and are “desperately searching for a plan” to counter him.
