US Secretary of Defense Comments on the Seizure of the 'Marinera' Tanker

The seizure of the 'Marinera' tanker in the Atlantic Ocean is linked to the blockade of oil from Venezuela under sanctions. This was announced by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Earlier, the US Army Europe Command confirmed the capture of the Russian 'Marinera' oil tanker in the Atlantic Ocean. It has been reported that several American Pilatus U-28A Draco special mission aircraft were involved in the operation.

According to Western media, the United States is attempting to seize the oil tanker sailing under the Russian flag located between Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Previously, the tanker was named Bella 1 but later changed its flag and became a Russian ship.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that it is monitoring the situation and described it as abnormal.
