Another Step Towards Direct Conflict with Russia: Szijjártó
Hungary rejects the decisions of the "coalition of volunteers" regarding Ukraine, which could lead to war with Russia, stated Hungary's Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
Szijjártó assessed that a number of Western European countries, in trying to establish a military presence in Ukraine, are increasing the risk of direct war with Russia. According to him, such initiatives contribute to rising tensions in the region and do not serve to strengthen stability.
The Hungarian foreign minister noted that Budapest continues to advocate for a peaceful resolution and supports negotiation processes. He emphasized the importance of high-level meetings between the U.S. and Russia as a possible tool for reducing tensions.
At the same time, Szijjártó stressed that Hungary does not accept Brussels' recent decisions, which, in his words, bring closer military escalation and move away from the prospect of a peaceful solution.
