Father Gusan Alchanyan Joins the Coordinating Council Established by the Prime Minister and 10 Bishops

Father Gusan Alchanyan, the deputy head of the Armenian diocese of Switzerland, welcomed the establishment of the Coordinating Council by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and ten bishops, announcing his intention to join them and accept the content of the declaration and roadmap.

“Faithful and devoted children of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church,
After serving for many years in the Brotherhood of St. Jacob of Jerusalem, providing devoted service to the Holy Places and the Patriarchal See, as well as in administrative and educational divisions, in recent years, I was called to the position of the deputy head of the Armenian diocese of Switzerland at the request of three active parish councils, which was established by the Catholicos at the time.

During my service here, day by day, I witnessed the diversion of our Church leadership from the core mission of the Mother See, involvement in political processes, and other concerning circumstances. The justified issues raised recently by ten high-ranking clergymen of the Armenian Church have long been urgent and in need of resolution. Thank God, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has also joined this sacred mission of reform, and he will contribute significantly to the development of spiritual life in Armenia.

I wish to inform the Armenian community in Switzerland and our spiritual brothers that, welcoming the establishment of the Coordinating Council by the Prime Minister of Armenia and ten bishops, I am joining them, accepting the content of the declaration and the roadmap. I express my readiness to fully engage in the sacred mission of the reformation of the Armenian Church,” he stated on his social media page.

It should be noted that on January 4, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on his social media pages regarding the reform of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
