Netanyahu Sends Message to Iran Through Putin
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sent a message to Iran through Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is noted that in recent weeks, the leaders of Russia and Israel have had several phone conversations amid rising tensions between Tehran and Tel Aviv, during which the relevant message was conveyed.
According to the Washington Post, Netanyahu fears that Iran may launch a preemptive strike to prevent possible Israeli actions. The Israeli Prime Minister is also attempting to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to carry out further strikes on Iranian targets.
The report indicates that the Israeli side seeks either to impose sanctions on Iran or to obtain direct U.S. intervention in the conflict. It is worth recalling that Israel launched a strike on Iran during the night from June 12 to 13, 2025. On the same day, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes against Israel using ballistic missiles.
The United States became involved in the conflict nine days after the escalation, striking three nuclear facilities in Iran located in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz on June 22. On June 23, Iran targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest U.S. airbase in the Middle East, following which Trump announced that Israel and Iran had reached an agreement on a ceasefire that came into effect on June 24.
