Trump Refuses to Set Deadlines for Peace Settlement in Ukraine
US President Donald Trump has stated that he cannot specify any concrete deadlines for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but he expressed hope that an agreement could be reached in the not-too-distant future.
When asked if it would be possible to set a 'deadline' for the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine by 2026, Trump emphasized that such an approach is not advisable. "I don’t set deadlines, but let me say this: for example, Thailand and Cambodia. I was very proud of my role in that issue. Just wait a moment, they started conflict again, and I resolved it. For that, I give myself a quarter of a point. Now I have eight and a quarter points, because Thailand and Cambodia started again, but now everything is fine," said the US president.
Discussing the situation between Russia and Ukraine, Trump indicated that, in his estimation, at some point the parties will reach an agreement.
