Major Oil Companies Unaware of Trump's Plans to Oust Maduro: FT

Leaders of American major oil companies, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, and ConocoPhillips, were unaware of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration's plans to topple Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This was reported by the British Financial Times, citing sources in the industry.

According to FT's interlocutor, no consultations were held with any industrial players who have the necessary capital and expertise to invest in Venezuela, either before the possible ousting of Maduro or prior to Trump's statements regarding the recovery of the Venezuelan oil sector.

At the same time, Ali Moshiri, head of Amos Global Energy Management, informed FT that he plans to attract around $2 billion in investments for Venezuelan oil projects. He stated that the proposal for private investors is already prepared, and the investment targets have been clarified.
