Court Rejects Samvel Karapetyan's Lawsuit Against Nazeli Baghdasaryan

The general jurisdiction civil court of Lori province has rejected Samvel Karapetyan's lawsuit against Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, regarding a public apology, denial of allegations, and 9,000,000 AMD in compensation.

The lawsuit was filed after a Facebook post made by Nazeli Baghdasaryan on June 17 of this year, in which she criticized Samvel Karapetyan.

The court did not accept the plaintiff’s arguments and concluded that there was no insult or defamation in Baghdasaryan's post. According to the court, her publication falls within the limits of freedom of speech.
