Members of the 'Homeland' Party Arrested Along with 8 Others: Anti-Corruption Committee
This morning, referring to lawyer Sos Hakobyan's post, we reported that last night the Secretary General of the 'Homeland' party, Khachik Galstyan, and the party's responsible figure in Armavir, Aram Kocharyan, were arrested.
The Anti-Corruption Committee informed Auroranews, "In response, we announce that an investigation has been initiated at the Anti-Corruption Committee regarding cases of vote buying by responsible persons of the 'Homeland' party in the community of Vagharchapat in Armavir region for the municipal elections on November 16, 2025, and receipt of electoral bribes by residents of the same community. Recently, 8 individuals were arrested as part of this criminal case, including the former deputy governor of Armavir. For one of the arrested, detention was applied as a measure of restraint, and house arrest was applied for three others. Just the day before, two additional individuals were arrested in the same criminal case on charges of bribery, including the mentioned party's secretary general. Motions have been submitted to the court for the application of detention as a measure of restraint for them."
