Attention: New Rules for Entering Georgia Effective January 1
The State Revenue Committee announces that, according to information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, starting January 1, 2026, every tourist entering Georgia will be required to present a document confirming health and accident insurance at the border crossing, either in physical or electronic form.
The document must be in Georgian or English. It can be provided by both Georgian and foreign insurance companies and must have a minimum coverage of 30,000 lari.

The document must include the following information:
- Parties of the insurance contract,
- Coverage area,
- Subject of insurance,
- Start and end dates of the insurance,
- Insured risks,
- Insurance amount limit,
- Amount of the insurance payment, place, and deadline for payment.
The insurance must be valid for the entire duration of the tourist's stay in Georgia.

- Holders of diplomatic, official, service, or special passports,
- Employees of diplomatic missions, consular establishments, international organizations, as well as their family members,
