Snow Falling, Blizzard Conditions in Some Areas: Certain Roads Closed

The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Karmir in the Aragatsotn region are closed.

The stretch from the Jermuk intersection to the area known as "Janger," the Noravan-Ltzen-Tatev, Shinuheyr-Tatev-Kapan, Vanadzor-Spitak, and Vanadzor-Dilijan roads, the Vardenyats Pass, and the turns of Spitak and Dilijan are closed for trucks with trailers.

Snow is falling in the Vardenyats Pass.

There are blizzard conditions in the area called "Meghru Sar."

There are spots of black ice on the roads in the Abovyan-CharenTsavan, Aragatsotn, and Syunik regions, as well as in the Tigranashen turns.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Concerning Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Emergency Situations Department of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks.
