Significant Progress Achieved: von der Leyen on Zelensky and Trump's Phone Call
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised the phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has lauded the phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump, noting that significant progress has been achieved during the discussion. She shared this on the X social media platform, as reported by European Pravda.

Von der Leyen emphasized that she had an effective one-hour conversation with Trump, Zelensky, and several other European leaders. “Significant progress has been made, for which we are very pleased. Europe is ready to continue cooperating with Ukraine and our American partners to solidify this progress,” highlighted the President of the European Commission.

According to her, the most important aspect of these efforts is to secure reliable security guarantees from day one. French President Emmanuel Macron announced that a meeting of 'decisive' countries will be held in Paris at the beginning of January, where they plan to determine each country's specific contribution to Ukraine's security guarantee system.

Zelensky and Trump reportedly met in Florida for peace negotiations, with Trump warning that he would call Putin immediately after their conversation.
