Open Disinformation and False Publications About Armenia: Prime Minister's Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the Prime Minister, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, wrote on Facebook that Okyay Defrem has once again spread open disinformation and false publications regarding Armenia. This individual has previously distinguished himself by disseminating material that is inconsistent with reality and manipulative in nature, which has been officially denied.

“This publication clearly fits into the framework of systematic disinformation campaigns against Armenia and aims to deliberately mislead the public, distorting the actual picture of regional processes by presenting it in a false and misleading light. A number of responsible media outlets that fact-check have already responded, receiving official clarifications from us and publishing retractions. This professional approach is commendable. At the same time, it is extremely concerning that some media continue to reproduce and disseminate clearly false information without any verification, effectively becoming willing or unwitting participants in these disinformation campaigns.

In the coming days, I will address these disinformation campaigns in a series of separate publications, revealing their real sources, players, dissemination mechanisms, and objectives,” Baghdasaryan noted.
