Iran Supports Armenia's 'Peace Crossroads' Initiative

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the credentials of Khalil Shirqolami, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia.

"I would like to once again emphasize the friendly relations established between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as highlight the activation and expansion of our cooperation in recent years," said the President.

The Ambassador noted that the President's words and the positive approach presented regarding the relationship are highly encouraging and inspire confidence for the development of further cooperation.

During the meeting, various aspects of multifaceted cooperation between Armenia and Iran were discussed, as well as opportunities and prospects for the continuous development of cooperation. The parties addressed the implementation of regionally significant projects and the necessity of fully utilizing existing potential.

Thoughts were also exchanged on regional realities and developments during the conversation. The newly appointed Ambassador emphasized that Iran supports the process of establishing stable peace and security in the region, as well as Armenia's proposed 'Peace Crossroads' initiative.

During the meeting, possibilities for deepening cooperation between Armenia and Iran in the fields of high technology, infrastructure, and energy were discussed, as well as prospects for implementing joint projects. The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in the consistent development of bilateral relations and the formulation of new directions for cooperation.
