Criminal Proceedings Initiated in the Case of Missing Noble Deer

The Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Minerals reports that on December 5, in the territory of the "Hayantar" State Enterprise's "Jambarak Forestry" branch in Gegharkunik Province, a collar (with a radio navigation receiver) was found hidden under leaves in a pit, cut and partially melted.

Within the framework of the administrative proceedings initiated by the Inspectorate for Nature Protection and Minerals, it has been established that the collar was attached to a noble deer released into the wild by the "Dilijan National Park" State Enterprise, but the animal has not been located in the area.

According to the RA law on "Rates for Compensating Damage Caused to Animal and Plant Life Due to Environmental Violations," in the case of hunting or extermination of a noble deer, the compensation for damage caused to wildlife amounts to 3,000,000 AMD. An official report regarding the apparent crime has been submitted to the RA Investigative Committee, based on which criminal proceedings have been initiated.
