The Conflict Will Either End or Drag On for a Long Time: Trump
In Florida, a meeting is taking place between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. In a brief conversation with reporters, President Trump emphasized that they have reached the final stage of negotiations.
"The conflict will either end, or it will continue for a long time. Millions of people will be affected," Trump said.
According to the U.S. President, both the Ukrainian and Russian presidents want to reach an agreement, but he did not specify any deadlines. "I don’t have any deadlines. No one even knows what will be discussed regarding the security agreement. But there will be a security agreement," he stated.
Trump mentioned that a peace agreement would bring massive economic benefits to Ukraine, but a lot of work still needs to be done. He also denied reports suggesting that Moscow takes a dismissive attitude toward peace in Ukraine, highlighting the attacks from Kyiv on the Russian Federation.
"I think Ukraine has also carried out very strong attacks, and I'm not saying this negatively. There have been some explosions in various parts of Russia. I don’t think it came from Congo. I don’t think it came from the United States. It could have come from Ukraine," Trump said.
The Trump-Zelensky negotiations are now continuing in a closed format.
