Zelensky Plans to Convince Trump to Intensify Pressure on Russia: FT

According to FT, Zelensky intends to convince Trump to increase pressure on Russia during their meeting. An FT source revealed the content of Zelensky's phone conversation with European leaders ahead of the December 27 meeting with Trump.

The politician does not expect Russia to agree to the conditions set by Kyiv and Europe for ending the Russo-Ukrainian war, and therefore, he aims to persuade the American leader to exert pressure on Moscow.

The publication states that Zelensky plans to agree to the withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces from the eastern regions of the country only if a referendum is held.
