Vardenyats Pass Impassable for Trailer Trucks: Road Situation Update

The Rescue Service reports that in Armenia, the roadways are generally passable. However, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountainous meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to Amberd Fortress and Kari lake are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trailer trucks. In the Vardenyats Pass area, as well as in the regions of Aparan, Amasia, Yeghenadzor, Jermuk, Charentsavan, and Hrazdan, and in the cities of Vanadzor, Goris, Kajaran, and Meghri, there is snowfall.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.

Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks.
