A strong eruption has been recorded on the Sun, marking the most intense event since December 8. The eruption's power reached nearly 50 percent of the maximum X-class threshold. The peak of the eruption was detected at 05:50 Yerevan time.
The information was provided by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Scientists had warned a day earlier that an increase in solar flaring activity could be expected in the coming days. This is due to the emergence of two major active regions on the Sun's Earth-facing side, which could serve as sources for powerful solar phenomena.
