The Civil Contract Proposes Free Preschools in Gyumri

The Civil Contract faction of the Gyumri City Council has proposed making all community-run preschools free of charge at a recent council meeting. This was reported by Sarik Minasyan, a member of the faction.

"The government will provide an additional 437 million drams in subsidies to Gyumri next year, which will enable the full implementation of this proposal. Currently, the total amount charged for the annual fees of 2,500 children attending preschools is 120 million drams. As a result, there will be many more children attending preschools, especially from families in vulnerable groups, creating opportunities for them to access pre-school education," he wrote.
