Poland Raises Fighters, Details
Polish fighter jets have been raised into the air along the border with Ukraine after the capital Kyiv was subjected to Russian missile and drone attacks overnight, reported BBC News.
The Polish army announced that its air forces have taken 'preventive' measures to secure the nation's airspace following the assault, which resulted in at least one death and 28 injuries in Kyiv.
In response to the strikes, Poland, which shares a 530-kilometer border with western Ukraine, has put its fighter jets, ground air defense systems, and radar reconnaissance on combat readiness.
According to representatives of the Polish armed forces, this action was 'aimed at ensuring safety and the defense of airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to regions under threat.'
