Leader of Banned Group in Russia Killed

Denis Kapustin, the founder of the "Russian Volunteer Corps" (an organization recognized as a terrorist group and banned in Russia), has been killed in the Zaporizhzhia region. This information was reported on the group's Telegram channel.

The statement indicated that Kapustin was carrying out a combat mission. The organization believes he died during an attack by an FPV drone.

It should be noted that Kapustin was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment in November 2023 for organizing attacks on villages in the Bryansk region. He is also wanted internationally.

In January, a military appeals court confirmed the life sentences issued in absentia against Kapustin, founder of the Russian Volunteer Corps, and actor Kirill Kanakhin (also designated as an extremist and terrorist) for their roles in an incursion into the Bryansk region in March 2023.

Earlier, a source from Russian security forces reported that in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops killed the platoon commander of the 22nd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special military operation on December 26. The incident occurred near the village of Udi, where a strongpoint of Ukraine's 22nd separate mechanized brigade was destroyed.
