Kallas Accuses the U.S.

The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaia Kallas, has announced that the decision by the U.S. to impose travel restrictions on European citizens is an attempt to undermine EU sovereignty.

"The U.S. decision to impose travel restrictions on European citizens and officials is unacceptable and an attempt to undermine our sovereignty. Europe will continue to defend its values, including freedom of speech, fair digital regulations, and the right to regulate its own space independently," she wrote on the X social media platform.

It is worth noting that on Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the U.S. has imposed entry bans on five activists for attempting to censor American platforms and speakers. Among them is former European Commissioner Thierry Breton, who is one of the main creators of the EU's "Digital Services Act."
