Medvedev Surprised by European Politicians' Statements
Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia and president of the United Russia party, has stated that he is surprised by the comments made by European politicians, including Germany's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Finland's President Alexander Stubb, regarding Russia's so-called 'peaceful' announcements.
“The ‘European peacekeepers’ surprised me. Pistorius said he does not believe in a war between NATO and Russia, while Stubb admitted that our country is not interested in attacking alliance countries. What has happened? A sobering up, or, on the contrary, has Christmas started?” Medvedev wrote on the Max platform.
Germany's Defense Minister Pistorius previously dismissed the scenario of a possible 'attack' by Russia on NATO countries, which several Western European officials and politicians asserted without evidence was realistic, a claim that Russia itself has repeatedly denied.
