Masoud Pezeshkian Sends Message During EAEU Meeting

In a message addressed to the Supreme Council meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that cooperation between Iran and the member states of the union is a long-term strategy aimed at creating a powerful region through the reinforcement of national sovereignty, as reported by IRNA.

Pezeshkian's message was read by Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Russia, during the EAEU summit which began on Sunday evening in St. Petersburg, attended by the presidents of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, representing the five member countries of the union.

“I am confident that relying on cultural and historical commonalities and benefiting from geographical proximity, we can envision a successful model of regional integration. Let’s turn this historic opportunity into a milestone for joint growth with great effort and determination,” Pezeshkian wrote in his message.

He asserted that the EAEU undoubtedly holds a special place in the foreign policy and economic diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the implementation of their free trade agreement and obtaining observer status in this union would signify an effective presence in the activities of this vital economic entity in this geographical area.
