Rita M.
China has no intention of entering a nuclear arms race with any country, stated Lin Qiang, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press briefing. Earlier, Reuters reported, citing a draft report prepared by the U.S. Department of Defense, that China has allegedly deployed more than 100 intercontinental ballistic missiles near the border with Mongolia.
“China strictly adheres to the policy of not using nuclear weapons, follows a defensive nuclear strategy, always maintains its nuclear forces at the minimum level necessary to ensure national security, and will not engage in a nuclear arms race with any country,” Lin Qiang said.
