Europe Will Be Able to Celebrate Christmas Without War, Says Orban
Europe will be able to celebrate Christmas without war; however, the threat of war has not yet passed, as some politicians wish to draw it into direct confrontation with Russia. This was stated by Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“Christmas will be free from war, but the threat of war has not yet passed,” said the government leader. He believes this is evidenced, in particular, by the results of the recent EU summit held on December 18-19 in Brussels.
Participants of the meeting—except for Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic—decided to grant Ukraine a 90 billion euro interest-free loan over two years to finance military operations against Russia.
Orban believes that this step will exacerbate the Ukrainian conflict and increase the risk of direct confrontation between EU countries and Russia.
