Scandal at the Élysée Palace: Employee Steals Crystal from Macron's Residence
According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, an employee of the Élysée Palace has stolen crystal from President Emmanuel Macron's residence over a period of two years.
As reported by the newspaper, the meter d'hôtel Thomas M. was responsible for the inventory of table decorations and dinnerware and has stolen nearly 100 pieces of Sévres crystal worth tens of thousands of euros, including glasses, plates, and other items related to France's cultural heritage.
The article states that the employee falsified inventory documents to conceal the thefts and transferred the stolen items to crystal collector Gislen M., who is in charge of one of the Louvre rooms.
The text concludes by noting that the court has ordered both men to return the stolen property, the collector has been banned from working at the Louvre, and the concierge has been removed from their position at the Élysée Palace.
