Putin Appeals to Russia's Allies

The countries of the CIS must work together to combat any attempts to distort history, particularly regarding the Great Patriotic War. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to TASS.

“We must continue our joint efforts to preserve the memory of our common history and prevent its distortion,” said the head of state during his speech at the unofficial CIS summit.

Putin urged Russia's allies to do everything possible within the framework of cooperation so that young people know about the heroic feats of their fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers, who achieved victory in the war at an immeasurable cost.

The Russian leader noted that Russia intends to publish a unique collection of archival materials dedicated to the contribution of each republic to the defeat of Nazism, including digitized copies of previously unpublished documents and photographs.
