A New Gas Distribution Station to be Built in Yerevan, the First of Its Kind

In 2025, a new project for the construction of a gas supply network in the eastern and southern parts of Yerevan, spanning a total length of 24.7 km, was approved. Currently, work has been completed on 9 streets, with a gas network of 17.1 km constructed, said Kamo Areyan, advisor to the Mayor of Yerevan. He noted that the final works are being carried out in Vardashen, and the project will continue into 2026.

“In 2026, a new gas distribution station will be built in the capital, the likes of which the city has never had, besides the three existing intercity gas distribution stations and the one in Nubaraashen,” he stated, adding that of the 24.7 km planned, 7.5 km will continue to be developed next year. “Mr. Mayor, this is the program that was initiated directly by you at the end of 2023 and has emerged as a significant issue for the capital—the newly constructed multi-apartment buildings were in distress due to insufficient gas supply, and ‘Gazprom’ was also facing this issue,” he explained.

According to him, this is one of the most successful public utility programs in Yerevan.
