Trump Considers the Possibility of Creating a Palestinian State – Palestinian Ambassador in Russia

The Palestinian side acknowledges that U.S. President Donald Trump has been cautious when speaking about the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state. This was stated by Abdel Hafiz Nofal, the Palestinian ambassador to Russia, in an interview with TASS.

“We understand that President Trump has cautiously mentioned the Palestinian state in the draft resolution of the UN Security Council,” he noted.

The ambassador emphasized that the only viable and truly feasible solution remains the two-state solution, which is the only means to cease violence and tension. “Israel is well aware of this,” the diplomat continued.

He also highlighted that the Arab positions, particularly those of Saudi Arabia, as well as Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and all Arab and Islamic countries, along with the special stance of Russia and China in the Security Council, as well as the growing number of international recognitions of the Palestinian state—including those from European countries, Canada, and Australia—“facilitate the promotion of the two-state solution as the only available and feasible path to end this conflict and cycles of violence.”
