Someone Thinks About Himself, But a Whole Nation Suffers: Zelensky

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, also considers Ukraine's EU membership as a guarantee of its security, while linking the obstruction of this process to the electoral campaign in Hungary. He made this remark during an online communication with journalists, as reported by 'European Truth'.

Zelensky mentioned that Ukraine views its EU membership as a security guarantee, and many European leaders share this opinion. He said, 'Orban clearly understands that this is a security guarantee for us. But for him, our membership in the EU at this time is, I believe, nevertheless a campaign issue, an electoral process; I think he is primarily thinking about himself.'

'This is how one thinks about himself, but a whole nation suffers,' he added. 'Although, I would say at least two nations, because this is why friendship between Ukraine and Hungary, between Ukrainians and Hungarians, is not being strengthened.'

In Zelensky's opinion, 'everything will pass, this too, undoubtedly, will pass.' He asserted, 'Everything will be alright, and no one can stop our path because Ukrainians have made up their minds. We are moving forward.'

He also noted that former U.S. President Donald Trump views Ukraine's EU membership as one of the security guarantees, 'which is very important.'
