Putin Agrees to Compromises
Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to compromises to resolve the Ukraine conflict during a Russian-American summit held in Anchorage.
“During preliminary meetings in Moscow, proposals were presented to us, and we were asked to agree to certain compromises. When I arrived in Anchorage, I said that these would not be easy decisions for us. But we agree to the proposed compromises,” he stated during a live broadcast combined with a press conference.
The President emphasized, “To say that we are rejecting something is absolutely wrong and has no basis.”
“The ball is entirely in the court of our opponents, so to speak, and first and foremost, the Kyiv leaders and their European sponsors,” stated the Russian leader.
Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump held talks on August 15 at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage.
